Advanced Holistic Therapy for Healing Mind, Body, & Spirit
About the Practitioner

I began taking dance classes at a very young age and continued on through high school. Growing up on a small farm, I was never bored or sitting still for very long. We were always working on the land, garden, house, hobbies, or chores. I would check out books about dance from the library. So stretching and paying attention to diet and nutrition were something I had learned to do as self care for the body early in life.

My visits at a young age to the Cherokee nation, encouragement from Native American elders (Thank you Charles (Wain Chungka), Grandfather Wallace Black Elk, and Chief Two Bears) & family connections to the last great Comanche chief Quannah Parker also inspire my love of Ancient Wisdom, Christian mysticism, and nature's mysteries and medicines.

Because of suffering from frequent migraine headaches, muscle aches from physical activities, and several car accidents, I started getting massage therapy and chiropractic treatments in my early 20's. I then began studying about aromatherapy, nutrition, reflexology, and self massage techniques. After my dad endured a life threatening allergic reaction to prescription medication, I began a more intense study of the Healing Arts.  I tried techniques on myself, friends, and family.  With much encouragement, I became certified in Massage & Bodywork Therapy while living in Southern California.  Spiritual guidance & soul resonance launched me into an accelerated spiritual quest. I questioned the lifestyle that I was realizing felt like an unconscious auto pilot. In 2000, a Native American healing session with shaman Wain Chungka (Charles Martin) changed my life profoundly.  Resembling a shaman’s journey, I drifted into a dream realm, experiencing what I believe were insights for helping myself and others to be healthier and happier. I took notes of the experience and have used it to help me make important choices in my life.

I enjoyed learning to help others to find their own relief from pain and disharmony from a new perspective. I studied with Charles and assisted him at the annual Gathering of the Shaman in Malibu later that fall. It was there that I experienced my first sweat lodge with Lakota elder Grandfather Wallace Black Elk, where he shared wisdom, and played his "boombox" (drum). The next morning while sitting in prayer and meditation on the edge of a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, I asked for healing guidance and sent intention and breath into some lower back pain and a large knot on my neck that I had been suffering from for quite a while. By the next day, both were almost gone. Information about different therapies started presenting themselves to me and I got amazing results when I would incorporate them into my life. Ever since, I have been on an exciting, life changing journey of discovering truths about health, life, faith, and this amazing universe in which we live.

After 9/11, I was inspired to spend nearly two years traveling the country seeking wisdom, research, and experience by visiting sacred sites, taking classes, & sharing my findings to inspire health and happiness.  I went back to school and got certified in Neuromuscular and Massage Therapy and attained national certification by the NCBTMB.  My passion for the healing arts is expressed through continual educational pursuits.  With over 1100 hours of professional bodywork training, I have worked with thousands of clients from all over the country, age 7 months to 96 years, using a multitude of techniques to help encourage health, awareness, to release various body~mind restrictions, and inspire positive change in lifestyles, thought forms, and physical well-being.

Due to living in the LaLa land of Los Angeles, California for nearly 9 years, and wanting to "fit in", I have tried many different diets, health fads, supplements, and exercise techniques. I had my blood typed by Dr. D'Adamo, author of Eat Right For Your Blood Type when I took his workshop. I learned about the importance of a good amount of quality fiber directly from Brenda Watson at a workshop based on her book Fiber 35. After experiencing regular occurrences of allergic reactions and hives, medical testing showed that I was having new food sensitivities, with GLUTEN being one of my most reactive. This led me on a journey through learning about Food MAPS, AutoImmune Paleo diets, and how to reduce unnecessary triggering items from food and personal care choices.

I have studied & worked with several teachers, healers, and shaman including Lakota elder Grandfather Wallace Black Elk, Charles "Wain Chungka" Martin of California, Dianne Porchia, Joyce Garrish, Immanuel Center for Conscious Living, Agape International Spiritual Center, many Spiritual Teachers & Centers, award winning spas, chiropractic & physical therapy offices, the "What the Bleep Do We Know" Fest in Los Angeles, the "Gathering of the Shaman" retreat in Malibu, helped build sweat lodges, and facilitated workshops.

My hope is to teach and empower others to help themselves find what helps their body and mind thrive and to live a fuller, more meaningful life.
